Elanco is building their Global Corporate Tax team and is seeking an individual who has a passion for US Multinational foreign affiliate tax accounting, reporting, compliance, and controversy management. Position Summary This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Global Tax Accounting & Reporting with a focus on the EMEA region while collaborating on all aspects of Elanco’s global income tax footprint. Responsibilities include: the oversight and direction of the income tax provision, income tax compliance, controversy, and business support processes of foreign affiliates, focusing on the EMEA region. This includes the related training and development of local affiliate teams in income tax processes and requirements. Applicants should also have demonstrable leadership experience in supervising teams and strong interpersonal skills, gained through successful cross functional global income tax business support experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities * Provide direction and oversight with respect to all income tax accounting and effective tax rate matters; including quarterly and annual tax provision process completion; focused on EMEA region affiliates and other affiliates as needed * Ascertain risks and needs in order to develop and deliver US GAAP income tax provision process training towards seamless execution by local affiliates of quarterly and annual income tax provisions * Provide direction and oversight support addressing key US GAAP income tax accounting/ tax provision process steps of: + Annual return to provision true ups (RTPs), including review of annual compliance and local income tax returns + Identification and analysis of uncertain tax positions (UTPs), + Cash tax payment analysis and related documentation requirements, + Accounting for income tax audit controversy and related assessments, + Accounting for income tax related to M&A transactions. * Lead the co-ordination and review of the global foreign affiliate income tax compliance process and deliverables engaging with Elanco’s 3rd party outsource provider * Support SOX compliance processes and deliverables * Provide support in managing relationships with external auditors and management of external service provider performance * Support ongoing global/ regional cross functional projects Minimum Requirements: * 10+ years combined income tax accounting/tax compliance/tax planning experience, preferably a mix of Public Accounting and multinational corporate tax roles * Bachelor’s degree * Working knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting under ASC 740 * Strong tax planning and research skills * Prior supervisory experience and ability to lead and work in a team-oriented environment * Hybrid office location is Warsaw Poland, weekly hybrid in office and work from home * Fluency in English Additional Preferences: * Experience with SAP, Tax Accounting Provision software and BNA/Checkpoint research programs * Strong oral and written communication skills * Excellent organizational and self-management skills * Strong leadership skills * Superior project management skills We offer: * Career at one of the leading global animal healthcare companies * Hybrid work type * Office located in the center of Warsaw (Rondo Daszynskiego) * Extra days off * Flexible working hours * Sports cards (Multisport), private medical care, life insurance * Employee Referral Program * Open and inclusive environment which is supportive and welcoming of all diversity strands * Animal-Friendly office * Theatre tickets discounts * Language learning platform Elanco is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status
